About Project Friendship:
In a world that has never seemed more threatening and devoid of promise for a disproportionate number of America's children, Project Friendship provides tangible measures of compassion, care, and positive influence. We offer young people what they need and want most - adults who respect and listen to them; a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves; and interesting, constructive activities that channel youthful energy into challenging pursuits.
As a result of the collaboration between our programs and support from the community, Project Friendship has provided high schools students with ample access to high quality programs and services. Some notable examples of our impact are as follows:
• Over $10,000.00+ in academic scholarships have been awarded annually.
• $200,000 in athletic scholarships have been awarded to male athletes.
• Weekly mentoring sessions provided to youth involved in our program(s)
• Talent Hunt winners are coached and prepped to compete at national competitions
• Health disparity awareness forums
Ultimately, Project Friendship is dedicated to inspiring students to excel academically and beyond. We seek to celebrate the arts, build on physical talents, develop awareness of health and wellness issues, as well as, prepare students to be upstanding citizens.
